submarine cable Installation
Our experienced teams specialize in the precise and safe installation of HVDC and HVAC submarine power cables along with fiber optic submarine cables. Canpac Marine has successfully completed over 450 submarine cable projects since our first installation in 1965.
Using advanced Dynamic Positioning (DP) vessels, DP2 self-propelled barges, anchor spreads, and our in-house cable lay management software developed from decades of installation experience, we ensure precise cable installations in all seabed conditions. Our installation operations are supported by Canpac’s in-house ROV and Commercial dive teams working in unison with our cable plows and trenchers to achieve optimal burial depths while minimizing environmental impact.
Situated in the Pacific Northwest, we have extensive experience in installing submarine cables in water depths ranging from 50 to 2000+ meters. Our specialized teams excel in working under challenging conditions, including areas with strong currents exceeding 6 knots and complex seabed profiles that include underwater cliffs extending hundreds of meters to the seabed. Whether in deep-sea environments or shallow coastal waters, our commitment to operational excellence and safety ensures every project is executed to the highest standard.
Our team remains at the forefront of submarine cable technology, continuously innovating and adopting best practices to meet the evolving demands of the industry. Whether the task involves cable installation, repair, recovery, or inspection, Canpac Marine delivers tailored solutions with precision and reliability.
